Germ is a sex positive jewelry and art business created by me, Gillian Marwood, a nonbinary sex worker.

I grew up internationally, primarily in Scotland, which is where I lived before moving to Chicago to study poetry writing at Columbia College Chicago. It was in college where I started my work in stop motion animation and created an ongoing project exploring sex work and gender. This project moved from stop motion to sculpture where I create brightly colored alien sex workers. Throughout my scultping I fell in love with Jewelry design, and began sculpting earrings which grew into creating molds, casting earrings in resin and painting them. I’m now practicing and studying metal smithing and I’m so excited to bring more of this skill into my work at Germ.
